WELL CARED FOR JEWELRY CAN LAST A LIFETIME

How to care of my silver jewelry?

The pieces created and developed inside the Jewellery Experience are mostly made of silver, which leads the designer to have a great affinity with this metal.

The silver alloy used by the designer is a league internationally known as Sterling Sliver - 925, which means that it consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. This alloy is widely used for giving the jewelry a slightly higher hardness, without changing much the amount of silver.

When the copper, which is in the silver alloy, comes in contact with the air it undergoes a chemical phenomenon called oxidation. The oxidation may cause a change in the original color of the jewel, but this alteration of tonality does not represent a change in the quality or the content of the alloy. It is a natural and superficial change, which can occur to a greater or lesser extent depending on several factors, such as the proximity of the sea, the PH of the skin, etc. With a simple cleaning your jewelry will return to the original coloration.

To clean your silver jewelry: place it in a container with a little water and coconut soap and boil for approximately 3 minutes. Wash it under running water and dry with a soft paper or towel.

Special cares

Jewelery with organic gemstones

(pearls, mother-of-pearl and coral)

Avoid leaving in contact with cosmetics and perfumes, always placing your jewelry after the perfume dries.
Clean them after use with a dry cotton or flannel, eliminating cosmetic residue and sweat. You can also use a soft, damp cloth.
Do not wash bracelets or necklaces of pearls, as moisture weakens the silk thread. These types of gems need to "breathe" and resent excessive moisture or dryness. Store in cool, well-ventilated areas.

Jewelry with Emeralds

Wash them gently with coconut soap and cold water. Rinse and dry without scrubbing.

Jewelery with Turquoise, Opal and Agate

Avoid water or oil.

Clean with flannel or suede.

Jewels with images (Iemanjá, São Jorge ...)

Avoid wetting jewelry that has pictures.

As much as these jewelry have a seal to prevent infiltration, some products can damage the seal of this, resulting in some permanent damage.

How to care of my gold jewelry?

Gold pieces created inside the Jewellery Experience use 19.2k yellow gold alloys (80% pure gold, 20% silver and copper) and 19.2k white gold (80% pure gold, 20% palladium or silver and copper). In the two gold alloys, pure gold content remains unchanged, but the proportions of the other metals added to the alloy vary according to the desired color.

The same chemical phenomenon called oxidation can also cause a change in the original color of its gold jewelry, but this change in color does not represent a change in the quality or the content of the alloy. It is a natural and superficial change, which can occur to a greater or lesser extent depending on several factors, such as the proximity of the sea, the PH of the skin, etc. With a simple cleaning your jewelry will return to the original coloring.

To clean your jewelry in gold: place your jewelry in a container with a little water and coconut soap and boil for approximately 3 minutes. Wash it under running water and dry with a soft paper or towel.

How to care for my diamond jewelry?

The beauty of diamonds lies in their brilliance, transparency and in the "fire" of reflected colors - properties that depend on the correct maintenance of the gem.

The diamond easily retains body fat, and it is therefore recommended to clean it whenever it is handled by rubbing it lightly with a soft bristle brush, warm water and coconut soap. In addition, although another diamond differential is its high hardness, it must be preserved from the impact and contact with other diamonds, so that the yolk is not damaged or scratched.

It is therefore recommended to store each jewel that has diamonds in isolation.

Never boil your jewelry with detergents or chemicals

The heat in contact with the chemicals are enemies of the jewels.

If the cleaning does not work, take your piece in our store and we will be happy to make an evaluation to help in the conservation of your jewelry.
